Manager: Muricy Ramalho
During a coaching career spanning over 14 years, Ramalho has managed a range of teams including Santa Cruz, Internacional, Náutico and São Caetano where he achieved solid success. He has been at the helm of São Paulo twice, leading the club to victory in the Copa Conmebol in 1994 and back to back Brazilian Serie A Championship in 2006 and 2007. Stadium: Estádio do Morumbi The Morumbi stadium is São Paulo's home ground, seating a maximum of 80,000 supporters; although only 75,000 tickets are sold each game to ensure venue safety. In 1970 the stadium had a capacity of 140,000, making it one of the largest football grounds in the world. Extensive remodelling in 1994 reduced the number of seats, while improving the overall quality of the facility. São Paulo - 2007/2008 Season São Paulo’s dominance of the Brazilian Serie A continued as the club clinched its second consecutive championship with a number of games to spare and by a very convincing margin. Coach Ramalho has been instrumental in turning the team's performance around since joining in 2006. Before 2006, São Paulo's last league triumph was in 1991. The side goes into the 2008 season as overwhelming favourites with its sights firmly set on unprecedented third victory in a row.
