Santos Futebol Clube

Santos is one of Brazil's top five football clubs and the most prolific goal scorer in league football. In 1998 it became the first team to score more than 10,000 goals in competition and it went on to surpass the 11,000 goal mark in 2005. The 60's was the club's golden era when players such as Pelé, Coutinho and Pepe led it to unsurpassed popularity and success. Post Pelé the side's performance was mediocre until a recent revival led by club's President Marcelo Teixeira. His unorthodox approach helped ease the financial burden by developing young players and reducing spending. His efforts were rewarded with Brazilian Serie A victories in 2002 and 2004, and the club continues to pose a serious threat in the competition. Football Betting

Manager: Vanderlei Luxemburgo

Luxemburgo is a champion coach with a distinguished career, including managing the Brazilian national side and leading Cruzeiro Esporte Clube to the Triple Crown of Brazilian football in 2003 (Serie A title, Brazil Cup & Brazilian State Championship), an equalled feat. He has also coached Spanish mega club Real Madrid, as well as many of Brazil's top sides. He has managed Santos on three separate occasions including 1997, the 2004 championship campaign and most recently since 2006.

Stadium: Estádio Vila Belmiro

The Estádio Vila Belmiro, also known as Estádio Urbano Caldeira or simply Vila Belmiro is Santos' home ground. It is perhaps most famous as the place where Pelé, the best footballer to ever live, displayed his awe-inspiring skill. The stadium has a seating capacity of over 20,000, although record attendance at the facility was almost 33,000 in 1964.

Santos - 2007/2008 Season

Santos has been a force to be reckoned with since the start of the millennia, winning the Serie A championship in 2002 and 2004, while finishing no worse than 10th in five years. The club is set to finish second in the 2007 season, behind the unstoppable Sao Paulo squad which has already secured the championship. Heading into 2008 Santos will definitely be a team worth watching and it definitely has the skill, the players and the support to win the title
