The bright orange kit and clinical play of the Netherlands national football team has earned it the nickname Clockwork Orange. This is with particular reference to the 'Total Football' style of the squad (featuring the star players Johan Cruijff, Johan Neeskens, Willem van Henegem and Ruud Krol) that finished second in both the 1974 and 1978 FIFA World Cup. The country has qualified for the finals of the European Championship seven times with one triumph in the Euro 1988 tournament in West Germany. However, in recent times Holland Football has failed to fire on all cylinders only managing pedestrian performances in global competition. Football Betting

Manager: Marco van Basten

As one of the Netherland's most talented strikers of all time, Marco van Basten is a living legend. During his esteemed career as a footballer, he was a pivotal component of the 1988 European Championship winning side and played for both A.C. Milan and Ajax Amsterdam. He has scored a total of 276 goals and won the European Player of the Year honour three times (1988, 1889, 1992). Since taking over the Dutch national side in 2004 he has achieved average success, but has failed to add any significant silverware to the country's trophy cabinet. He recently announced that he will resign as coach at the end of the Euro 2008 tournament.

Stadium: Amsterdam ArenA

Inaugurated in 1996, the Amsterdam ArenA stadium is the home of the Eredivisie (Holland's national football league) football club AFX Ajax and the venue for the Netherlands national football team's home fixtures. The UEFA 5-star facility features a retractable glass roof and has a capacity of over 50,000 people.

Netherlands Euro 2008 Preview

The Euro 2008 Finals draw placed the Netherlands in Group C along with Italy, France and Romania; making getting to the latter rounds a very difficult task for The Oranje. The Netherlands was solid in qualification, finishing second to Romania in Group G, but previous disappointing performances in major competitions, including Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup, leave nagging questions about the side's ability to rise to the occasion. However, should the team overcome the "Group of Death" the confidence gained would do wonders for its Euro 2008 campaign.
