Manager: Abel Braga
Braga has a respectable record as a coach and has managed a plethora of Brazilian teams; with stints leading Beleneneses and Vitória de Setúbal in Portugal and Olympique de Marseille in France. He has been in charge at Internationale on three separate occasions. His most tormenting moment was losing to Esporte Clube Bahia and Paraguay's Olimpia, which cost him the Brazilian Serie A championship and a Copa Libertadores title in 1988. He made amends in 2006 by guiding the club to victory in the Copa Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Cup. Stadium: Estádio Beira-Rio The Beira-Rio stadium, meaning river bank due to its location near the Rio Guaíba, is Internationale's home ground with a capacity of 56,000. The facility took over 10 years to be completed. During this time the club's fans contributed to its construction bringing building materials and helping with labour. It has a record attendance of 106,554 set in 1972 and it is set to be revamped in preparation for the 2014 Brazilian FIFA World Cup. Internacional - 2007/2008 Season After finishing as runners up in the 2005 and 2006 seasons, Internationale has gone off the boil a bit this season and was never really in contention, lingering in mid-table obscurity for most of the year. The club did however win the Recopa Sudamericana Cup, so not all was lost. Internationale has been a serious competitor in recent times, but despite continental and international success, the club has failed to claim the Serie A. The team will no doubt be on the hunt to rectify the situation next season and it is definitely a side worth watching.
