Manager: Nelsinho Baptista

Baptista's coaching career spans over 20 years and more than two dozen teams, including Internacional, Sao Paulo and Santos. As a footballer, he played as a right back for Ponte Preta, Santos, Juventus and most notably Sao Paulo. He was recruited by Corinthians in September 2007 to help the club end its run of misfortune, mismanagement and disappointing performances.

Stadium: Estádio do Pacaembu

Corinthians play all its home games at the municipal Pacaembu stadium, Sao Paulo's second largest facility seating over 37,000 people. The club is currently reviewing its options in regards to building a new ground for the team and its loyal fans, who are referred to as Fiel, Portuguese for faithful.

Corinthians - 2007/2008 Season

Since 2004 Corinthians fans' reputation for being loyal to the core has come under scrutiny. Hampered by three tremulous years of poor management, financial difficulties and underperforming, the team has only rarely lived up to its potential, despite winning the 2005 Serie A. In 2006 the club lingered in mid-table obscurity. The 2007 season has possibly been its worst in years and the team is on the brink of relegation. All indications are that the team will escape an unthinkable demotion, but only just. New manager Nelsinho Baptista definitely has his work cut out for him.
