Colo-Colo is ingrained in Chilean culture inspiring a movement of loyal fans called the Garra Blanca (White Claw). The club is by far the most successful in the history of the Primera Division. It currently holds 24 national accolades, 14 Chile Cups and it is the only team in Chile that has won the Copa Libertadores, South America’s premier continental tournament. The club’s colours and badge are rich in symbolism. Colo-Colo was a Mapuche leader who led the resistance against the Spanish insurgency in 1551. He stands for courage, bravery, wisdom, determination and purity of principle. Football Betting

Manager: Claudio Borghi

Borghi is an ex Argentinean footballer who played for a variety of top clubs, including AC Milan, River Plate, Independiente and Colo-Colo. He also made an appearance for Argentina’s national side in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. He joined Colo-Colo as coach in 2006, leading the team to both the Clausura and Apertura in the same year, as well as the Copa Sudamericana final. His performance earned him the honour of South American manager of the year for 2006.

Stadium: Estadio Monumental David Arellano

The Estadio Monumental David Arellano is situated in Santiago, Chile. It is the Colo-Colo’s home ground with a capacity of over 45,000 people and the venue for the club’s legendary Copa Libertadores triumph in 1991, a feat still unmatched by any other Chilean football club.

Colo-Colo - 2007/2008 Season

With the 2007 Apertura already under its belt, Colo-Colo is well positioned to win the Clausura tournament and repeat last year’s Primera Division clean sweep. Only Audax Italiano Santiago stands in the team’s way. In continental competition the club faired well, but was unable to claim any silverware in either the Libertadores Cup or Copa Sudamericana.
