Club Atlético de Madrid Football

Bet Live on football - Click here for Spanish La Liga football odds.

Founded in 1903, Atlético Madrid has won both the La Liga and the Copy del Rey nine times, making the club one of the most successful in Spain. However, in recent times it has failed to make an impact in all forms of competition, except for the club’s Double winning season of 1996 (La Liga and Copa del Rey). After a disastrous 1999-2000 season, Atlético Madrid was relegated to Segunda Division where it spent two seasons. The club has experienced a change of fortune since the inception Enrique Cerezo as its new president in 2004. Football Betting

Manager: Quique Sánchez Flores

Born in Spain, Quique Flores has an accomplished record as both a player and a coach. The highlights of his career as a fullback include playing for Valencia, Real Madrid, Real Zaragoza and the Spanish national team. Before joining Valencia FC in 2005, he enjoyed success managing Real Madrid’s youth side and an impeccable season at Getafe. In his two seasons at the helm of Valencia he has led the club to back to back top four La Liga finishes and Champions League qualification.

Stadium: Estadio Mestalla

Famous for its almost vertical terraces, deafening fans and passionate atmosphere, Estadio Mestalla is one of the most intimidating and exciting football venues in European football. It can seat 53,000 making it the fifth largest ground in Spain. Despite the legacy the club will leave behind, Valencia will move to its new 75,000 capacity Nou Mestalla stadium in 2009 to accommodate its growth on the world stage and fanatical support

Valencia FC - 2007/2008 Season

Valencia has been a formidable force at home and in Europe in the last two seasons, but the club hasn’t quite managed to claim any major silverware for its efforts. Injury setbacks to key players held the team back from serious La Liga title contention towards the end of last season, but it still managed to finish fourth and qualify for the Champions League. Led by a core group of Spanish Internationals, including David Villa, Fernando Morientes, David Silva and Joaquin, you can expect Valencia to pose a serious threat across all competitions this season.
