Manager: Luciano Spalletti
Luciano Spalletti began his coaching career at Empoli where the young manager led the club from Serie C1 to Serie A in consecutive seasons. His next notable achievement came at Udinese; under Spalletti the team finished fourth in the Serie A and subsequently qualified for the UEFA Champions League. He joined A.S. Roma in 2005 and has since guided the team to victories in the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italia, as well as entrance into the Champions League and near Serie A titles, finishing runners up in both the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons. He was named Serie A Coach of the Year in 2006. Stadium: Stadio Olimpico The Stadio Olimpico, located in Rome, is the home ground for both A.S. Roma and S.S. Lazio, as well as the venue for the Italian national football team's local matches. The stadium is a UEFA 5-star rated facility with a seating capacity of just under 83,000 people. It has hosted some historic events; including the 1990 FIFA World Cup and it will host the 2009 UEFA Champions League Final. Roma - 2007/2008 Season Roma has made tremendous progress under Luciano Spalletti and this trend will no doubt continue this season. The team led by stalwart Fancesco Totti and Brazilian winger Mancini has been reinforced at the back with the signings of Cicinho and Juan, but perhaps its only shortcoming is the lack depth up front. This could make the crucial difference in the i Giallorossi's championship campaign.
